Corella With A Bad Attitude
We all have our good days and not so good days, and this Corella looks pretty cute and innocent. We have a couple pop in from time to time but a couple of weekends ago hubby and were enjoying a cool drink under our back patio when a flock of about 30 Corella's started landing on our lawn. A couple of Sulphur Crested Cockatoos were enjoying some seed from the seed tray when the Corella's started flying up and chasing off all the other birds. Then just one started fighting all the other Corella's. The noise was horrific There were...
A Special Very Cheeky Crimson Rosella
Selecting one of my photos to be printed on canvas then framed, is a very difficult time consuming project, often involving going through hundreds and hundreds of great photos. Then all of a sudden you see a photo that puts the biggest smile on your face, a photo that you experienced a special connection with and you know that is the photo to have done. That was the case with this unbelievable Crimson Rosella It wasn't long after my Mum passed away, and I was standing in a garden taking photos of a handsome male King Parrot I wasn't expecting...

Male King Parrot
This Male King Parrot just flew into our backyard yesterday. He has been hanging around here since he was a young juvenile, now he has bought his female friend and his young male juvenile chick only out of the nest for a few days. Where we live it is very hot and humid, and we have lived here for 28 years and we have never seen them here before, then about last April they showed up and stayed around. They usually are more up on the tablelands and mountains. I won't complain as they make our garden look pretty with...
Our First Set Of Cork Baked Placemats and Coasters
So why did we select the Male Scarlet Honeyeater to feature on our first Cork Backed Placemats and Coasters when we have so many lovely images of Australian Native Birds to choose from? Our eldest son and his partner bought me a bird book for Christmas a few years ago. The book was written by Graham Pizzey and it was illustrated by Frank Knight The name of the book is 'The Field Guide To The BIRDS OF AUSTRALIA' This book has great detail and information helping to make bird identification a little easier. I was intrigued by the Scarlet Honeyeater...
