The Stunning Plumed Whistling Duck

I never ever thought we would ever have this stunning duck the Plumed whistling duck on our property and two of them, a pretty little female and a handsome male walked daily around our property, regularly coming up near the back of our house and laying under the shade of a tree near where we had a bowl of fresh water. We are very fortunate to have both the Forest Kingfisher and the Sacred Kingfisher living in the trees on and around our property. Just being able to walk out our front door and just take a couple of steps to be able to photograph these beautiful little birds in their natural environment is beautiful. Another Day With The Striated Pardalote

I captured these Striated Pardalote along the Pine Rivers in Queensland. They keep giving me the fly around darting into pine trees, fir trees, and it was hot so they were always hiding under something to get so shade, but even when fluffed all up they looked really great. Red Browed Finch

The bright scarlet bill, eyebrow and rump makes it easy to identify this little bird which is found only down the east coast of Australia and into coastal South Australia. The Juveniles bill is black and it lacks the eyebrow but has a scarlet rump like the adults. They are only 11-11.5cm in size. Similar species is the beautiful Red-eared Firetails which I haven't photographed yet as they are only in a small area in southern Western Australia.
