I have  had requests for more images of the The Regent Bower-bird so today I have added these images below. I have had to go through many hundreds of images because I like to capture our Australian Native Birds in their natural environment. I do not use photo shop to make my photos look good as I feel this doesn't show their natural environment. The Male Regent Bower Bird is not a very big bird being only around 25-30cm in size. The Male is more striking in color obviously to attract the females. The females tail is slightly longer and...

On the morning of our 7th day road trip to Dubbo, I was awake very early as I wanted to enjoy the grounds before we headed up to have breakfast in the restaurant before leaving. Departing Dorrigo, we were originally going to travel down the mountain which was a beauitful drive calling into Bellingen but a friend suggested we do the inland road, she said it was a beautiful drive. Today the 5th day of our road trip to Dubbo and it is a lovely cool misty rainy day, this will be fun with all my camera gear but we are ready. Lindy and I spent 2 years planning this trip so we plan on making the most of every minute of everyday. We had heard that the Shoyoen Japanese Gardens at Dubbo were one of the best in Australia, so we just had to put it on our To Do List. We were not disappointed These gardens are beautifully maintained and presented, and where we were probably 2 weeks...

We were having two full days at Taronga Western Plains Zoo so we decided on our first day we would do all the guided tours first, leaving us to wander freely around the Zoo on the second day. I think for me the highlight was feeding the Tigers This was a private feed where a few people went into a special area that exposed the tigers. They came right up to us and we were able to feed them holding their food with tongs. When they jumped up on the wire fence to take the food they were huge, but surprisingly...
