In Australia we have over 1,700 Australian Native Bees  I haven't spotted the Blue Banded Bee to date but we have noticed they don't appear until it is really warm. I can always hear them as they are much loader than our Honeybee. Most of the bees we have on our property are the Honey Bees (see below 4 images) Today I spotted something that looked very small land on a Grevillea flower so quickly changed my lens so I could capture it. Unfortunately with Brisbane being in Lock Down again Lindy and I had to cancel our day road trip on Wednesday but I didn't mind as the Lorikeets on our property kept us entertained. A gorgeous little bird with its striking colors of yellow, black and white. White-Cheeked Honeyeater is only 16-18cm in size and lives, breeds and feeds in rainforest margins, eucalypt forests, watercourse vegetation, coastal scrubs, paperbarks, and wet heaths. The most similar species is New Holland Honeyeater They also source insects often hovering for them in the air.   The Pale-Headed Rosella is found in Queensland and Northern New South Wales. The featured photo is of a Juvenile and I must say he does look very innocent in this photo. I don't know what my problem is with this bird, but I find them very difficult to get a good photo. Their eyes are black too which makes it hard to get that twinkle in their eye, but I don't think I have a connection with this bird. It is very destructive in our garden, landing in our Grevillea trees and bushes and just snapping off the whole...
