On the morning of our 7th day road trip to Dubbo, I was awake very early as I wanted to enjoy the grounds before we headed up to have breakfast in the restaurant before leaving. Departing Dorrigo, we were originally going to travel down the mountain which was a beauitful drive calling into Bellingen but a friend suggested we do the inland road, she said it was a beautiful drive. We said goodbye to the Cattlemans Country Inn Dubbo about 5.00am as we wanted to have breakfast at this great little place we found in Dubbo.  Once on the road our first stop was planed for at Gunnedah which was about a 3 hour drive from Dubbo, however when we got there we couldn't find anywhere to stop and freshen up and we didn't want to spend too much time there looking for somewhere as we still had a long way to go to get to Dorrigo hopefully by mid afternoon, so we stopped about 10 minutes out of Gunnedah...

Another bird I didn't expect to capture on camera was this stunning Male Regent Bowerbird. He is a medium size bird 25-30m and are Sexually Dimorphic. He is a glossy jet-black, with his crown, nape and inner wing feathers bright golden orange and his bill and eye being yellow. Males acquire their adult plumage at 5 years. The Male can be difficult to see as he is mostly seen as a flash of gold/black in quick flight between cover.
