Male Regent Bower Bird
I have had requests for more images of the The Regent Bower-bird so today I have added these images below. I have had to go through many hundreds of images because I like to capture our Australian Native Birds in their natural environment. I do not use photo shop to make my photos look good as I feel this doesn't show their natural environment.
The Male Regent Bower Bird is not a very big bird being only around 25-30cm in size. The Male is more striking in color obviously to attract the females. The females tail is slightly longer and she has a blackish bill.
They can be very difficult to find in the rain-forests as they tend to stay mostly up high in the thick growth, however all males Bower Birds build their bowers adding anything blue to attract the female.
I will certainly be chasing this gorgeous bird around more now to hopefully get some stunning captures of him in flight.
