In Australia we have over 1,700 Australian Native Bees  I haven't spotted the Blue Banded Bee to date but we have noticed they don't appear until it is really warm. I can always hear them as they are much loader than our Honeybee. Most of the bees we have on our property are the Honey Bees (see below 4 images) Today I spotted something that looked very small land on a Grevillea flower so quickly changed my lens so I could capture it. Their preferred habitat is shrub associations, undergrowth, margins of clearing, woodlands, heaths, sand plain and dune...

It is not always easy getting a photo of a bird in the wild in their natural environment. I have spotted these birds many times while on a photography day trip, but they were too far away and had many trees and branches between them and my camera, making it basically impossible to capture a nice shot.Oh you can get up close at some of these wildlife attractions where they feed them, but there is nothing more enjoyable or rewarding for me than to get them in the wild doing their own thingies. The Crimson Rosella is an Australian Native...
