Crimson Rosella Preening Feathers

It is not always easy getting a photo of a bird in the wild in their natural environment. I have spotted these birds many times while on a photography day trip, but they were too far away and had many trees and branches between them and my camera, making it basically impossible to capture a nice shot.Oh you can get up close at some of these wildlife attractions where they feed them, but there is nothing more enjoyable or rewarding for me than to get them in the wild doing their own thingies.

The Crimson Rosella is an Australian Native Bird and is 30-37cm is size. They breed from Sept-Jan and the female will lay 5-8 eggs.

Their natural habitat is rainforests, eucalypt forests, fernlands, and other woodlands. I couldn't decide which photo to add to my blog as I watched it preening its feathers so relaxed and it kept looking at me. It really made my day I think one these will be done as a canvas print and cork backed place mats and coasters. Will add to our shop once it has been organised.
