Could I love this little bird more than the others, well probably not because we have so beautiful birds here in Australia but he would have to be one of my favourite. He certainly keeps me entertained when out and about in our garden. Selecting one of my photos to be printed on canvas then framed, is a very difficult time consuming project, often involving going through hundreds and hundreds of great photos. This Blue-faced honeyeater wasn't too impressed with the rain. I have witnessed siblings feeding  and watching over each other when the parents are away from them. The juvenile's face is olive-green, their bib is grey. They are very playful and even though they are known be  aggressive, I have never seen this behavior in these birds. They are always chased by the more territorial birds. They forage in foliage, blossoms and fruit

  The highlight of my photography year in 2019 was definitely spotting and capturing the Scarlet Honeyeater's in action everyday for about 4 months feeding from the various native flora that we planted many years ago on our 2 acre property. Scarlet Honeyeater is only about 10cm in size they are very very quick making them extremely difficult to see and capture on camera. I witnessed the hard working female who went about building her nest, lovingly looking after and feeding her chicks sometimes 2 or 3 at a time which was an all day effort due to being chased...
