Large Honeyeater Family
There is 190 species of Honeyeaters, roughly half of them are Native to Australia. Many Australian Native trees and plants are fertislised by the honeyeaters, plants such as Proteaceaer and the Ericaceae and Myrtaceae Unfortunately I haven't photographed all of them at this stage but hopefully will get many of them in our future road trips. The Striped honeyeater just below was a delight when I spotted him in one of our native trees recently being only 21-23 cm in size but it did keep itself very well hidden in the thick growth. Another one I spotted for the first time...
The Blues
When I first got into photography I just want to take a nice photo and gradually get better, but now I try to create something different and I am finding using light early in the morning can create some amazing photos. In this photo that I took of the male Peacock I was able to get the light highlighting his gorgeous facial features. Sometimes I have to sacrifice other stunning parts of their bodies to get one good image. The male peacock is unmistakable with his brilliant blue head and body, while his train consists of abnormally long uppertail-coverts glossy...
Using The Sun In My Photos
Taking a walk in the garden early in the morning does have a few advantages. Here I was able to get the early suns rays filtering through the palm trees and this Lorikeet was in the right spot at the right time, with the sunlight showing off some great features of this colorful Australian Bird Dedicated to all the Australian Fauna and Flora lost in the 2019/2020 bushfires
Larrikin Rainbow Lorikeet
I love capturing the Rainbow Lorikeet also known as Blue Mountain Parrot and Red-collared Lorikeet. They would be one of the most expressive birds that I know. Their antics and gestures are just beautiful. They certainly like to entertain those watching them. The colors of their feathers are vibrant and rich and combine together to give the WOW factor. They feed all year round at our property in the flowering natives. Size: 25-32cm No other Australian parrot has streaked blue head and orange chest. Their desired habitat is rain forests, eucalypt forests, woodlands, paperbark woodlands, coastal banksia, scrubs, heaths, mangroves,...
Male Regent Bowerbird
What a stunning bird he is. My printer is just been given these 2 photos to print up on Canvas and Frame the male Regent Bowerbird can be a bit hard to see in the dark dense trees of a rain forest, but if you do manage to see him you are very lucky. I captured this one last October and again in November I will add both of these to our shop as well and they will be available as a portrait 40cmx50cm Dedicated to all the Australian Fauna and Flora lost to the 2019/2020 bushfires ...
