Curious Cockatoo

A very well known Australian Character is the Sulphur-Crested Cockatoo

They most certainly have their place in the Australian Landscape. Everyone loves the Cockatoo, well almost everyone apart from the few people who like to have peace and quiet around them. The Cockatoo is well know for its loud shattering screeches

They Breed from May-Sept in Northern Areas of Australia and from Aug-Jan in southern parts of Australia. The female will lay 2-3 eggs

I captured this photo below very early in the morning and there were plants behind them, I had a shallow depth of field and with their lovely white feathers showed them up very nicely. But it was all about love for these 2 love birds

Love aside, the Cockatoos are like big white angels flying through the sky, their wings are so light but very strong, and they glide so gracefully and precisely.

This beautiful bird is also very intelligent, and it has a fabulous personality if I can use that word on a bird. They have feelings, and they are very expressive. They like to clown around and make you laugh, and they like to feel they are part of the crowd. They are not aggressive to humans in fact they are the opposite, they love human interaction.

Oh those eyes, how innocent does this one look

They just love me taking their photo too, and when I walk around the yard they fly from one tree to the next watching everything I am doing, and they like to let me know they are near.

My wish is our younger generations will respect these amazing birds and look after them so all our future generations can enjoy them.

Dedicated to all the Australian Fauna and Flora lost in the 2019/2020 bush fires
